LILI FOURNIER is a media visionary, award-winning filmmaker, and humanitarian. She was the director and producer of The Quest, a groundbreaking series of PBS television specials that brought together the world’s most respected spiritual leaders. She also produced the televised By My Spirit concert with Placido Domingo—in the presence of Queen Sophia, a universal spiritual gathering honoring peace and co-existence.

On 9/11, Lili experienced a profound and prophetic vision of a dystopian future—one in which a demagogue would rise to power and pose an existential threat to humanity. That moment intensified her passion to create Live Aid for Women. Personally invited by President Clinton to make Women’s Day Live a Clinton Global Initiative commitment, she has honored that pledge for twenty years, working relentlessly to launch the Heart in Action movement—to harness the power of media, celebrity, & technology to build a grassroots infrastructure capable of mobilizing global culture.

Guided by her motto—Never Give Up—she persevered through profound loss, adversity, and sacrifice. Her parents lost everyone in Auschwitz. They fled an oppressive communist regime marked by hate,  persecution and fear, experiences that forged her lifelong vow to defend freedom and democracy at any cost.

I’ve been afraid and fearless all my life. I had to stay strong to sit with the pain of seeing all my nightmares become our lived reality. It’s taken outrageous courage to keep going with no support. I didn’t want to live with regret, knowing what I knew to be true. That’s why I could not stop. It has cost me no less than everything. I could not just stand by.  This was not going to happen on my watch. We are all responsible. Time has run out. We need an emergency mindset.

Our beloved Patron, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, of blessed memory, tried to help by sending out letters to get support for the mission for over a decade. I miss him to this day. I asked for a meeting at the Vancouver Peace Summit. He said he had no time, but if I came to Bali the next week for the Quest for Global Healing Summit, he could give me a half hour. I went okay. He and his magnificent wife Lea ended up as our patrons. That night we discoed!

“I want my grandchildren to know why I gave away their inheritance to achieve this historic mission,” she says. “I believe in the power of the American people to rise at what is the most consequential moment in our lived history. The time for Women’s Day Live, a bold and exciting vision, has arrived. I said no matter what I would have a plan in place. This is a war I had to fight and we have to win. The time to act is now.”

We’ve replaced our backbone with wishbones for too long. We must each summon the courage to do what this moment demands. We are stronger together. United, we have the power to change the future course of history.”

Victory is the only option. Love is the power. Love is the motivator. Love never quits.
